Mrs. Emma Hertlein, age 91, a life resident of St. Louis, Mo., who had spent the summers in Perrysville with her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Wait, for the past 20 years, died at 7:58 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 22, at the Rudisill Nursing Home in Covington. She had been a patient there since August 1961. Mrs. Hertlein, was born Sept. 1, 1873, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Schissler Walterspiel. She was married to George A. Hertlein, who preceded her in death in August 1919. Survivors include: her daughter, Mrs. Wait of Perrysville, R. 1, who is in Sarasota, Fla., where they spend the winters; one son, Clarence G. of Kirkwood, Mo.; one brother, Max Walterspiel of St. Clair, Mo.; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. The body was transferred by the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home of Covington to the Wacker & Helderle Funeral Home in St. Louis where funeral rites were conducted. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park in St. Louis. – jlr
